Welcome to our patchwork and quilting workshop. Patchwork and quilting are as popular today as they have always been. There are so many wonderful traditional and modern patchwork and quilting techniques to learn to make beautifully unique projects.
Our patchwork and quilting workshops give you the opportunity to learn these techniques. With over 20 years experience, your tutor Philippa will guide you through what you want to learn. This can include specific patchwork techniques, patchwork blocks, traditional and decorative quilting. We have developed a series of blocks which you can make in the session which will build ups your skill base, literally block by block. Patchwork and quilting is a fascinating way to use new and old fabrics to make unique items, including: cushions, bags, quilts and toys.
In our monthly patchwork and quilting workshop you will be working in our spacious studio at Markeaton Park Craft Village. Our class sizes are small to enhance your learning experience. As a result, you will be able to work at your own pace on your own project, thereby building your skills and confidence with each project.
Patchwork and quilting is traditionally a very social activity and this is also true of our workshops. Seeing other learners projects and discussing ideas and techniques can be very inspirational.
You can bring fabrics of your own to use and we have a selection to buy at the studio, we provide sewing machines, cutting and measuring equipment, and free car parking in the Marathon Park Craft Village Car Park (about 200m from the studio).
Furthermore, light refreshments are included and the kettle goes on at 9.55am.
The gallery of pictures show some of our learners projects and the progression that you will make.
